IRL/url branding and promo

MOTION DESIGN
VISUAL ARTS
Role: Motion Designer & Animator

I was commissioned by Art21 to develop the new logo and motion language for their film series IRL/url, presented by the Chanel Culture Fund. My work also included creating the promotional trailers, event merchandise, posters, and postcards for the live launch.

The logo was designed to embody the dual nature of the series’ concept: the tension between the physical and digital worlds. For the IRL side, I created an organic, constantly shifting logotype that feels alive and tactile. In contrast, the urlside draws from mechanical, typewritten aesthetics to capture the precision and structure of the digital realm.

The New York Times Events team invited me to collaborate on a series of videos for the 2025 DealBook Summit — the Times’ annual business conference featuring some of the most influential leaders in the world.

The project included 10 custom intro videos to play before each speaker, an opening sizzle video to kick off the day, a series of ambient animations for the event space, and a special feature animation highlighting the trailblazers in attendance.

Below are a few examples of the open video and intro videos created for both the live event and online streaming. You can view the full sessions at  www.nytimes.com/events/dealbook .

I creative directed the new EP campaign for British Synth Pop artist NZCA Lines’ “Universal Heartbreak” and separately produced and directed the music video for the title track “Universal Heartbreak”.
The piece was really inspired by Nan Goldin’s photographs, especially “Ballad of Sexual Dependency”, and separately by Pre-Raphaelite paintings, specifically Henry Wallis’s “The Death of Chatterton”. Also 90s luxury fashion ads of sad, sexy models. For the exterior NYC shots the intro sequence to “Manhattan” was my main inspiration; So, lots of 1990s nostalgia at play.

I was after a nostalgic melancholy and wanted the video to feel like u were intruding on an intimate moment. I wanted that feeling of looking at an old printed photo of you and your friends, or an ex lover, and having to like, grasp at your chest because the emotion is too much.

"If only the wind slowed down, I'd feel you were here some how.... it carries me back...straight into you..."

Music video for the band NZCA LINES.

Melancholic and magnetic Persephone holds a dark secret, deep inside herself. On a night out, while numbing her inner demons, she meets Roman: a sweet charmer, who can’t avoid her pull. Will he get lost in her darkness?

The music video is about how one can get lost within that lucid hopeful promise of a new love, and how we can get sucked in and possibly disappear into the other lover’s darkness. It is also about that lonely, empty feeling within one’s chest and wanting to fill it with in this case... a lover.
